Fire in multi-storey building in Golem, 6 people end up in hospital

A fire broke out in one of the apartments of a multi-storey building in a tourist complex on Golem beach. At around 20:30, on the 9th floor of the building, in the Shkëmbi i Kavajës area, a fire broke out in an apartment owned by citizen E. Sh.

Immediately after receiving the notification, the Police and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry services went to the scene. It is suspected that the fire was caused by an electrical fault, as smoke and flames were visible even from a distance.

According to preliminary data, 6 citizens were transported to the hospital for medical assistance after experiencing difficulty breathing due to smoke. Their lives are out of danger.

The fire has been extinguished and the situation is under control, but tourists and residents are still not being allowed to return to their apartments and rooms.

The investigation team continues to work to fully clarify the circumstances and determine the cause of the fire. /LAPSI.al
