
New details have emerged from the serious incident that shook the tourist town of Ksamil on Tuesday morning, where a Portuguese tourist, about 20 years old, lost his life after a conflict on the premises of the "Principotes" resort.
The victim has been identified as Luis Miguel Varela Mendes, who had come to Ksamil with a group of friends. According to new data that has emerged from the investigation and from the examination of security cameras, the incident is suspected to have started around 02:30, inside the premises of the bar called "La Guerra", part of the Principotes resort.
It is said that the conflict started over a girl and the 20-year-old Portuguese was stabbed by the security guard at the bar, Sokrat Vata, who has now been arrested, and punched by another person identified as David Heurteven, 29, a resident of Tirana and wanted.
Police say that during the fight, waiters Serxhi Selimi, Ervis Bunci, Murat Zhabina and Ildi Cekani were also involved in the aforementioned conflict, punching the 20-year-old, before citizen Sokrat Vata struck him with a cutting tool and fled the scene.
After the conflict, it is said that the 20-year-old was taken out of the premises of the "beach bar", where he was left lifeless in the beach area. Sources say that the tourist's body was allegedly left outside for almost 3 hours, until the moment it was discovered and the police arrived at the scene.
According to the same sources, Luis Miguel Varela Mendes had received several blows with a cutting instrument to the back and chest, wounds which caused his death.
Investigators are trying to reconstruct minute by minute what happened inside the bar, the moment of the conflict, the murder of the tourist, the removal of the body outside and the fact that it was left for hours in the beach area. ©LAPSI.al
