Residents of Divjaka again protest against the Territorial Reform: Let the voice

Residents of Divjaka continued their protest for the 23rd consecutive day against the Socialist Party's proposal for a new territorial map. The project envisages the unification of Divjaka with Lushnja, a variant that is opposed by the residents.

The protesters say they will not back down and demand that Divjaka remain a separate municipality. During the speeches, the citizens asked the government to remove Divjaka from the new territorial project. There were also calls for the local administration and the area's MPs to join the protest. According to the residents, the merger of the municipality would damage the area's identity and make it difficult to receive services.

"Divjaka has nature, forests, a lagoon and beauty that you don't find everywhere. We only ask that the voice of the residents be heard," said one of the protesters. After the speeches, the citizens continued the march through the streets of Divjaka, calling on other residents to join them.

Instead of taking care of buildings that threaten citizens aesthetically and physically, the Prime Minister and his Municipality in Durrës order millions of euros to be spent on building concrete walls that hide the sea and disfigure the city.
