
Four wildfires remain active in the country, while six others are being monitored. According to the Ministry of Defense, a total of 10 wildfires have been identified as of 5:00 p.m. on August 22.
The situation has improved significantly in the Gojan-Gjegjan area of Puka. The outbreaks in Gjegjan, Gojan i Vogël and Gojan i Madh have been isolated, while forces on the ground are controlling the line of fire to avoid reactivations.
In Prozhem of Puka, the fire continues in a forest area. The wind is favoring the flames, but currently there is no danger to homes. The fire in Shtanë–Tenë of Mirdita also remains active, where local forces and members of the Armed Forces are working.
The intervention from land and air continues on Mount Dajti. Firefighters, Armed Forces personnel, a helicopter and two Air Tractor aircraft have been engaged in the operation. No danger to residential areas has been reported. Meanwhile, the fire in Dukat has been completely extinguished. Over 300 forces have been engaged in the operations carried out during the day, supported by firefighting vehicles, three helicopters and two Air Tractor aircraft.
