A 43-year-old man of Albanian origin and resident of Rimini was arrested in flagrante delicto by the Carabinieri on charges of serious domestic violence, personal injury and threats against his wife and 22-year-old son, with whom he lives.
Italian media reports that the incident took place on August 5th at a hotel, after they were called urgently by the Albanian man's son. There, they found the man, drunk, demanding money from his wife for her work as a domestic worker in June and July.
The man first tried to throw a bicycle at a customer's car, then punched his son in the face, who intervened to protect his mother, causing him to drop the phone while the call to the operations center was still active.
To stop his father, the son pinned him to the ground until the carabinieri arrived, sustaining injuries himself.
According to the investigation, the abuse began in March 2020, when the couple's two children were still minors. In one case, the man, drunk, entered the children's room with a belt and, when the mother tried to protect them, pushed her, causing her to hit her head on the baseboard. Before taking her to the hospital, he also hit her older son. In the emergency room, the woman was forced to lie, claiming that she had fallen.
The new quarrel began on August 2, when the man attacked his wife again, causing her injuries. The next day, the wife filed a lawsuit. On August 4, the man appeared at his wife's workplace, threatening her. In this situation, the public prosecutor requested that the Albanian be remanded in custody. ©LAPSI.al
