Andi Bushati: What if Lali gets out of prison?

A pact has been drawn up between the prime minister and the imprisoned mayor to return the latter to office. But what would be the consequence for a justice reform, that the high-ranking officials have kicked down the doors of his cells?

A decisive moment for Albania

It is the first time that Albanians feel they can shape the national debate without waiting for political parties to take the lead. Experience teaches us that democracy depends not only on elections, but also on active citizenship among them.

Vučić responds to EU criticism: You are protecting your Albanian servants

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has reacted after the European Commission spokesperson stated that statements about changing the course of the Ibar River "do not support the goal of normalizing relations" between Kosovo and Serbia and that this can only be achieved through dialogue.

"Are you talking about the dialogue that you signed and the formation of the Association of Serbian Municipalities, are you talking about that dialogue? Or are you talking about the lack of dialogue and your reactions to the daily arrests of Serbs, the daily mistreatment of Serbs, the daily persecution of Serbs, the demolition of Serbian houses, are you talking about that? And then you remembered whether or not someone would change the course of the water," Vučić asked ironically.

He stated that changing the water flow is still a long way off and that a working group needs to be formed and experts found.

"We already have some experts. We need them too, so let's see what we will do and how we will do it. But they reacted immediately to this, to protect their "Albanian servants" and to tell them once again: "continue to commit crimes," - said Vučić.

He stated that Chief of General Staff Milan Mojsilović has discussed this issue with KFOR Commander Özkan Ulutaş.

"Mojsilović spoke to people from KFOR, to Commander Ulutaš, a Turk, who said 'no problem, the Kosovo police will work with us...'"

Really, no problem? Okay, now we see why you did everything you did in 1999. We understand it all and there's no big philosophy, everything is fine.

"From this perspective, at least we know who we are dealing with. Just don't pretend that you are here for some kind of dialogue or something like that, because you are not for dialogue," Vučić stressed.

"This was probably the worst conversation between General Mojsilović and the KFOR commander so far," Vučić stressed.

He said that if they were in favor of dialogue, Albanians would have fulfilled their obligations under the Brussels Agreement, and they had only one obligation – the Brussels Agreement.

"And everything was done for us to fulfill, so that they would fulfill that one obligation. And they did not fulfill it, and it never occurred to them to fulfill it. And they say it never occurred to them.

"And you give them everything else just because you want to kick Serbia out of Kosovo. And you still ask us to apologize and tell you how kind you are, but we are 'bad' and we don't know what we are doing," the president said.

He emphasized that we live in such a hypocritical world where people wonder why someone else said they would not respect the territorial integrity of another country, while they would not respect the United Nations Charter and the integrity of Serbia.

"They don't even respect the contracts and agreements they have reached and signed. And they are still lecturing me. So if you are lecturing someone else, forget about me. This is my message to them," Vučić said.

EC spokesperson Anita Hipper said earlier that statements about a possible change in the flow of the Ibar River do not contribute to "the goal of establishing normal relations between Kosovo and Serbia" and that this can be achieved "only through dialogue." ©LAPSI.al
