A week ago, an article targeting the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Erzen Tola, was published in several online media outlets. It was apparently a sponsored article to pave the way for him after his dismissal from office.
The moral was that Tola had abused his position for a few liters of oil and other decisions. This was ascertained by the KLSH in its reports. And this government, despite having raised corruption and state capture in the system, when it comes to its morality it does not forgive. It acts with an iron fist and takes the KLSH reports very seriously.
In fact, the rabbit was sleeping elsewhere. Erzen Tola had to be publicly flogged to pave the way for his demonstrative dismissal because Mirela Kumbaro had to appoint the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Jona Suli, who started her career as Kumbaro's front office secretary. And so it happened. As soon as Erzen Tola was dismissed, Jona Suli was appointed as Secretary General of the Ministry of Education.
Suli tried a few months ago to get the status of a Senior Officer in the Department of Public Administration, but failed, being listed on the losing list. Then, with the right political interventions, she suddenly became a winner and as soon as Erzen Tola was dismissed, Kumbaro promoted her to head the administrative apparatus of the Ministry of Education. Of course, the intention here is not to make Erzen Tola, who is one of the many servants of Edi Rama's government, an advocate.
The issue is nepotism and kleptocracy built into the system by the socialist government. We recall that Jona Suli was catapulted by Mirela Kumbaro and Ilir Beqja to the directorate of foreign funds and aid coordination (SASPAC) for about a year.
As soon as the scandal of Beqe's thefts in this institution broke out, Suli was sent on a mission by him and Kumbaros to this agency to have them extend their hand in projects worth millions of euros. Then she was dismissed from SASPAC and "walked" around to several peripheral institutions such as Co-Government and the Securities Printing House, to once again find refuge in Mirela Kumbaros' 'manor' in the Ministry of Education.
Clientelistic appointments and nepotism are no longer a new thing in Edi Rama's government. Thousands of young people take the path of emigration because competition and meritocracy have been killed here.
