Etna "wakes up" again

A new fissure has formed on the slope of Italy's Mount Etna volcano.

As reported by the local observatory of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology of Italy, the new fissure opened in the Valle del Bove Valley at an estimated height of around 1,900 meters, near Mount Simone.

On Mount Etna, strong explosive activity continues in the Voragine summit crater, accompanied by emissions of volcanic ash.

Currently, the ash is spreading in a south-southeast direction.

According to the institute, two fissures are active at an altitude of 2,750 and 2,360 meters, feeding several lava flows. The most advanced lava fronts are located at an altitude of about 1.5 thousand meters.
