The four people who were injured after a fire engulfed a speedboat in Porto Palermo, Himara, while they were working to repair the engine have been identified.
The injured are: Mateo Merdanaj, Aleks Doda, Xhemal Ismailaj and Ardinant Qaziu.
Four people suffered burns after gasoline in the engine compartment and tank allegedly caught fire during the work.
According to preliminary data, one of the people is suspected of being smoking a cigarette at the moment when the gasoline caught fire, causing the fire.
The four injured were initially transported to the Himara hospital. One of them is reported to have suffered burns to around 50% of his body, while another has suffered even more severe burns.
Due to their condition, the injured were initially transported to Vlora and after first aid, they were sent to Tirana for more specialized treatment.
The incident in Porto Palermo comes a day after a fire broke out at a hotel in Vlora, where six people were injured. Two of the injured from the hotel fire remain in serious condition. /TCH
