Andi Bushati: Why did Rama's campaign against oligarchs arouse fear?

The “Flamingo Revolution” shook society’s way of thinking. Today, being one of the people who benefits from the autocrat is no longer seen as an honorable man, but risks becoming a hated character. This was proven by the wave of reaction against the millionaires of Rama’s court.

Day 38/ Albanians don't give up: In the square until Rama leaves!

Today marks the 38th day of the civic protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office building, a movement that has mobilized citizens from Tirana, the districts, and the diaspora for more than a month.

This afternoon, protesters are expected to gather again on the boulevard to continue what has already become the longest and most sustained protest in recent years. What began as a reaction against the project in Zvërnec has transformed into a broader movement against the political caste, with the demand for the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama and a change in the political system.

During yesterday's protest, citizens repeated the calls "Rama resign", "Rama go", "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", "Your end has come", "Revolution", "New Albania" and "The homeland is ours", while the organizers declared that the protest will continue every day until the prime minister's departure.

A series of speeches were also given by activists and citizens on the podium. Among them was Mother Liza, who recalled the "May 5" protests and demanded the resignation of the prime minister, while another protester called for preserving the peaceful character of the movement, emphasizing that avoiding violence is a condition for achieving its objectives.

The most emotional moment of the rally was the speech of the mother of activist Arbër Lleshaj, who spoke about the arrest and, according to her, rape of her son during last week's protests. She stated that the event has made her even more determined to be in protest every day.

Organizers have reiterated that the rallies will continue in the coming days, while citizens are expected to return this afternoon in front of the Prime Minister's Office to continue the protest on its 38th day.
