The head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has announced that on Monday he will file a criminal complaint with SPAK against Prime Minister Edi Rama and Minister Blendi Gonxhja for financing the 4.2 million euro Kanye West concert. Through a post, Bardhi accuses Rama of double standards. He recalls that when he was in opposition, the current prime minister denounced as abuse three public activities worth around 1 million euros, organized for the 100th anniversary of Independence. According to Bardhi, 14 years later, the same prime minister has approved a fund of 4.2 million euros for a private concert, without legal procedure and using funds that, according to him, should only serve for natural disasters or extraordinary situations.
The Democrat demands that Rama be held criminally responsible for the use of these funds, calling the decision an abuse of taxpayers' money.
"On Monday, the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group will file a criminal complaint with the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) against Edi Rama and Blendi Gonxha, who must be held accountable before the law and citizens for the flagrant abuse of Albanian money," writes Bardhi.
