The fire situation in the Dibër region continues to be problematic, with two active fires reported today. The situation in the Lura National Park is more worrying, where the fire in the area called Maja e Ruveshit, above the village of Borie Lura, has reached new proportions overnight.
According to local authorities, strong winds have favored the spread of the flames and have significantly increased the perimeter of the fire. The hearth has spread in three directions, from the village of Gurë Lura, towards Fushë Lura, while the flames have also approached the bottom of the mountain, approaching about 50 meters from some houses in the village of Borie Lura. The situation is described as very difficult and alarming, while authorities warn that with increasing temperatures the fire may become even more difficult to manage.
15 MZSH officers, 10 forestry service officers, 12 ADZM forces, two municipal civil emergency workers, 20 municipal forces, 15 volunteers, 50 Armed Forces officers and 10 State Police officers were engaged in the operation to deal with the situation.
Authorities are continuing their intervention on the ground, with the main focus on containing the spread of the flames and protecting homes and residents of the area.
