The Ministry of Defense informs that as of 8:00 PM, 18 fires have been registered, of which 9 remain active and 3 are under monitoring.
One of the main active hotspots is the one in Gojan – Gjegjan in Puka. It remains the most problematic hotspot, due to the rugged terrain and strong winds. Forces are focused on protecting homes, while the evacuation of residents in the area has also been carried out. The operation is supported by land and air, including 40 AF personnel and 3 helicopters.
The intervention continues in Mal Milot, Kurbin with 3 fire trucks, 1 fire truck, 20 Armed Forces personnel and 2 helicopters. The danger to homes has been eliminated, while the forces continue to work to bring the fire under control.
In Dajti Mountain, after a reactivation, the operation continues with ground forces and 1 AF helicopter. There is no risk to inhabited areas.
In Gjon i Bulqiza, the fire remains active and is being attended to by 5 firefighters, 22 volunteers and 4 municipal forces, with a focus on protecting homes near the fire area.
In Ballaxhiaj, Memaliaj, thanks to the intervention of operational forces, the fire has been brought under control and is currently located far from homes. Firefighters, police forces and volunteers have been engaged in the operation.
The situation is also positive in Qafë Helmes, where the fire has been extinguished on the Bulqiza side and isolated from the Selishta side, as well as in Lufaj i Mirdita, where the fire has been brought under control. There is no risk to homes in both areas and monitoring continues.
AKMC continues to coordinate and monitor the situation throughout the territory, in cooperation with the central and local structures of the Civil Protection system.
383 operational forces and 24 firefighting vehicles have been engaged in field operations, supported by 90 Armed Forces personnel, 1 firefighting vehicle and 4 Air Force helicopters.
