This is 20-year-old Portuguese Luis Miguel Varela Mendes, who was stabbed to death in Ksamil by Sokrat Vata.
The young man was with a group of friends on vacation in Ksamil, where after a fight at the resort, he was stabbed several times and died.
The investigative team questioned the victim's friends, who gave their testimonies about how the conflict began and the moments leading up to the fatal blow.
According to them, the fight is suspected to have started inside the premises of the bar after a girl was harassed. The situation then escalated and several people were involved in the conflict.
Security personnel also intervened in an attempt to calm the situation. At this point, the 20-year-old Portuguese man is suspected of having intervened between the people involved in the conflict, with the aim of separating them.
But witnesses have stated that his intervention ended tragically. Varela was stabbed and, despite the intervention, the wounds proved fatal.
"The fight started over the harassment of a girl. Several people were involved in the conflict. Luis Varela stepped in to quell the conflict," the victim's friends are reported to have stated.
