According to several years of investigations, Sokol Hoxha's main activity in Belgium was prostitution, an activity which also led to a murder committed by him in this country.
It is suspected that Hoxha staged a marriage with Brunilda Hoxha in order to exploit her, whom he then shot dead in a Brussels bar after she refused to obey his orders. After the crime in Belgium, Hoxha fled to the UK using a false identity as a Kosovar refugee, a known tactic through which he also secured a residence permit.
He thus began a new life, with a completely different identity, but again with the heavy burden of three victims in Albania and Belgium. After more than two decades, Albanian investigative agencies received indications that Hoxha's location was in the USA, as American, Belgian, British, and Kosovar law enforcement agencies were committed to exchanging information on this criminal.
