Sali Berisha declared that with the election of new leadership structures, the party has completed the process of constituting its institutions.
In a statement to the media after the National Council meeting, Berisha described this as an important day for the DP, emphasizing that the renewal process will be continuous.
Asked if this team makes the Democratic Party ready to be victorious in the upcoming elections, the leader of the DP said that the new structure is the best this political force has ever had.
"With this today, it has a team that it has never had before. A team like this in competence, experience and training is the most superior team of this party in all times," declared Berisha, while adding that in the new team there is increased representation of young people, women and experienced figures.
Regarding criticism within the party that the renewal process has not affected all leadership levels, Berisha said that every member has the right to express his opinion, while emphasizing that the elections were held by secret ballot and with two candidacies.
"These voices are normal, everyone has the right to express their opinion. But as you see, we vote with two candidates, we vote secretly, and I say once again that the candidates presented to the National Council are the most, I would say, incomparable in their qualities with the previous elected ones," he said.
Regarding possible changes in political leaders in the regions, Berisha said that the process will continue gradually.
"This is an ongoing process, but everything will be done gradually. We will await the results of the vote, but I say once again that there is a profound renewal of the entire leadership of the Democratic Party, unprecedented," Berisha concluded.

A very important day in which the DP closes the process of constituting all of its institutions. I believe this is clear, a spirit of renewal throughout, in implementation of the most important motto of the Assembly, which was renewal.
Question: Is the Democratic Party ready to be victorious in the next elections with this team being voted on today?
Sali Berisha: With this today, it has a team that it has never had before. I guarantee that a team like this in competence and experience, in formation, is the top team of this party in all times and you can take this and examine it in turn. In this team that you have before you today, there are personalities who have publications at the highest world levels. Some of them are personalities with great experience in their field, in the political field, so I say that never in history has there been a team like this. There is a greater representation than ever of young people, and this is the directive of the Assembly, there is a representation of women, so there is an excellent proportion of all sensitivities, of all the potentials of this party.
Question: Mr. Berisha, there have been critical voices within the DP that this renewal process has perhaps not been completed at all levels. So it has reached the level of the secretariat or even the vice-chairmen, but when it has reached, for example, the level of the secretary general, it has perhaps stopped there. How do you respond to that?
Sali Berisha: These voices are normal, everyone has the right to express their opinion. But as you can see, we vote with two candidates, we vote secretly, and I say once again that the candidates presented to the National Council are the most, I would say, incomparable in their qualities with the previous elected ones.
Question: Will this process continue with political leaders in the regions or will they not change?
