VIDEO/ Ermal Meta supports protests in Albania: Our land is not for sale!

Singer of Albanian origin, Ermal Meta, has publicly expressed his support for the protection of land and the environment, referring to the protests that have been taking place in Albania for months, known as the "Flamingo Revolution".

During the presentation of his newest song, "Nu simu niente" ("We are nothing"), Meta addressed the audience with a strong message, citing as an example the resistance of Albanian citizens in the face of large industrial and corporate interests.

"It's a song that talks about people, about people who understand that we are nothing, but that maybe we still have one small thing, the power to stand up against those who want to usurp our land," the singer said.

Meta said that the protests in Albania have made him reflect and singled out the stance of farmers and ordinary people, who, according to him, are showing dignity by confronting powerful powers and interests.

"Small farmers, simple people who actually become great to face off against powers, against unthinkable powers ," he said.

The singer also emphasized that similar problems exist in Italy, mentioning Puglia, Ostuni, and Sardinia.

At the end of his message, Meta conveyed a clear stance on protecting the land: "This land, as long as we are here, is ours; and it is not sold, nor can it be bought."

With this statement, Ermal Meta becomes another well-known name expressing support for the protests, following the reactions of other internationally renowned Albanian figures, including Dua Lipa. /LAPSI.al
