What is happening with the concert of American rapper Kanye West in Tirana is going beyond any logic of the functioning of a normal state.
The 4 million euros that Prime Minister Edi Rama removed from the budget reserve fund appear to have gone to buy unsold tickets, which risked leading to the cancellation of the event.
According to a report by Monitor, by the end of May, up to 25,000 tickets were estimated to have been sold, but more than half of the specially built stadium in the Kashari area was at risk of remaining empty.
But Albanians don't even want tickets for the controversial rapper for free.
SMS messages are circulating on social media about school principals distributing them to students, supposedly to reward good students.

Other messages have come out from the administration, where employees have been told that there will be a "raffle" to get free tickets.

The government is going even further, as efforts are going as far as buying influencers who until yesterday supported the protest. They have been offered "collaboration opportunities" in exchange for tickets.

From "no penny", the Albanian government went to 4 million euros, money spent on a whim of a prime minister and a culture minister whose best defense on this issue is the words: "You took the blame, Kanye West." ©LAPSI.al
